About Village Play Foundation

The Village Play Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and children in Manchester, NH, and the surrounding communities. Our mission is to provide access to inclusive sensory play experiences for children on and off the autism spectrum and to operate the Village Trading Post — a sustainability initiative that redistributes clothing, toys, and essential children’s items at no cost to families in need. As a project of Village Play Cafe, we believe in building welcoming spaces for children of all abilities, reducing barriers to play and access to essentials, and strengthening our community through service, sustainability, and support.

Programs & Impact

Sensory Room Programs

We offer weekly inclusive play sessions, caregiver support groups, special quiet hours, and autism awareness workshops to ensure every child can engage in safe and supportive play.

Village Trading Post

We collect gently used children’s items, host “free shopping days,” and provide emergency support kits to families in need — keeping essential items out of landfills and into the hands of those who need them most.

Education & Outreach

We offer workshops focused on sustainability, child development, and caregiver wellness, partnering with experts and local organizations to empower families with knowledge and community connections.

Our vision is to create a village where every child belongs, every family has access to support, and sustainability is woven into the fabric of our community.

Short-Term Goals

  • Launch full sensory programming by 2025.
  • Serve 500+ children and families annually.
  • Expand free access to essential items through the Village Trading Post.

Long-Term Goals

  • Build mobile sensory experiences to reach more communities.
  • Create new partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, and local businesses.
  • Grow our educational programming and sustainability initiatives.
